DePaul Cristo Rey Empowers Students with Professional Experience

Barnes Dennig continues to demonstrate its belief in going beyond the numbers by partnering with DePaul Cristo Rey High School. DePaul Cristo Rey is a Catholic, college preparatory high school located in Cincinnati that focuses on transforming students with economic needs into high school and college graduates through their curriculum and innovative work study program.
Barnes Dennig has partnered with DePaul Cristo for two years with the goal of helping to impact many young people’s lives. Barnes Dennig’s mission is to “empower individuals and organizations to achieve financial success”. The mutually beneficial partnership with DePaul Cristo Rey helps students prepare for success in a real-world, professional setting, which helps the firm fulfill its mission.
A quote from a DePaul Cristo Rey student sums it up this way:

An overview of the DePaul Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program:
- Students are able to regularly attend school while working an entry-level job
- Students are paired with Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky businesses, and non-profit organizations
- A team of four students is able to fill one full-time position by alternating students’ daily
- Each student works a total of five full days a month, contributing to the cost of the students’ education
The Corporate Work Study Program encourages young students to learn similar values as the firm’s Barnes Beliefs’; “Be grateful for the opportunities to use your talents and gifts to make a better way for your clients, colleagues, community, family and self.”. The Barnes Beliefs’, a collection of descriptive phrases that bring the firm’s core values to life, are demonstrated through this partnership and through the firm’s ongoing commitment to the community.
