Matt’s technical knowledge, attention to detail, and leadership skills make him an asset to Barnes Dennig’s clients and staff. He has considerable experience with audit and tax engagements, as well as accounting projects of varying scopes, and he has served a leadership role within the firm since early in his career.
Matt leads the assurance group of the firm’s manufacturing client service team. The team is comprised of professionals who work with some of the firm’s largest and most complex clients. His clients have provided him with extensive experience with U.S. companies with international operations or foreign based companies with domestic operations.
Matt is a member of the firm’s employee benefit audit team and manages the plan audits of the firm’s public company clients. Matt also serves as a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants Accounting & Auditing Committee. Matt has a wide range of experience with plan audits including ESOP’s, 11-K filers and Defined Benefit Plans. He receives extensive continuing education on plan audited annually.
Matt serves on the firm’s Assurance Quality Control Committee. In this role, he helps the firm deliver assurance services of the highest quality and is active in multiple process improvement initiatives within the firm.
In addition, Matt is one of the founders of Barnes Dennig’s Emerging Professionals Task Force. The Emerging Professionals Task Force sponsors events and training sessions to help members of the firm learn new skills, develop business relationships and achieve life/work balance.
Matt is a graduate of Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Xavier University with a Masters in Business Administrations. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Ohio and holds membership in the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). Matt also serves on the YP Council for Keep Cincinnati Beautiful.
