About Dan
Dan leads the firm’s Client Accounting & Advisory Services team and is a well-respected Director on Barnes Dennig’s Construction client service team and Employee Benefit Plan audit group. He also spends time conducting peer reviews and helping clients with various project work, with a focus on helping our clients succeed in every aspect of their business. With a work ethic that is second-to-none, his high performance and dedication to Barnes Dennig and the firm’s clients is noted by many and has resulted in a promotion from Staff Accountant to Director in near record time.
Rising through the ranks to Director at a meteoric rate, Dan has built an extensive history working efficiently with his team to provide the best service to the firm’s clients, helping them overcome challenges, achieve goals, and making their lives easier. His in-depth experience with audit procedures and processes simplifies fieldwork for clients, and he always has an eye for audit process improvement.
He understands the importance of recruiting and retaining top talent and has an in-depth passion for identifying and bringing in the best of the best – and in creating a culture that helps them fulfill their full potential. Dan first got involved in recruiting efforts at his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati, and now is involved in the recruitment and retention of all levels of staff across the organization.
Dan’s deep involvement in the community dates to his days at the University of Cincinnati. He taught Junior Achievement throughout college and the beginning of his professional career. He was a member of the 2013 Multiple Sclerosis Leadership Class of Cincinnati and served on the MS Society’s Emerging Leadership Council. He has served on the Cincinnati Public Schools Audit Committee since 2014 and currently serves as the Vice-Chair. He also has served on the Finance Committee for Ohio Valley Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (OVABC) and the Ohio Valley Construction Education Foundation (OVCEV), serving as Treasurer of OVCEF from 2018 to 2020, and currently serving as the Treasurer of OVABC. He currently serves on the Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS Alumni Advisory Board.
Dan is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. At UC, Dan was part of the Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS program. Dan has earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designations and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
