Andrew “Andy” J. Bertke has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to co-founding a local CPA firm, which joined Barnes Dennig in 2014, he worked for regional and international accounting firms.
Andy uses his business and analytical skills, coupled with his tax knowledge, to provide clients with sound tax planning ideas and compliance matters. He has an in-depth knowledge of federal, state and local tax matters that allow him to resolve tax matters involving income, sales & use, and property tax conflicts.
Andy leads the tax consulting practice at the firm, and his team of professionals and dedicated resources ensures that clients are maximizing every opportunity that the tax code allows. He is a member of the AICPA’s tax section and keeps an eye on the ever changing federal, state and local tax laws.
Andy also holds the AICPA’s Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential, which is granted exclusively to CPAs who demonstrate considerable expertise in forensic accounting. This skill set allows him to contribute specialized forensic accounting skills in a variety of areas. He is also a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), meaning that he has met the financial planning requirements established by the AICPA. This means that Andy is able to address his clients’ comprehensive financial planning needs, and better understand the tax implications.
Andy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with Honors, from the University of Kentucky with a major in accounting. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Xavier University with a concentration in taxation. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Kentucky. He also serves on the Crestview Hills Office Park Economic Analysis Steering Committee.
