About the Speakers:

Marcia Brandstadt

Marcia is the Director of the U.S. Commercial Service (CS) in Cincinnati, Ohio, overseeing the U.S. Department of Commerce’s trade promotion activities in Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The U.S. Commercial Service is the federal government’s front-line trade agency, promoting both U.S. exports and foreign investment into the U.S., and protecting U.S. commercial interests abroad.

Prior to her current position in Cincinnati, Marcia was an International Trade Specialist for the U.S. Commercial Service in Cleveland.  Before joining the U.S. Commercial Service, Marcia served as manager at the Cleveland World Trade Association and at the World Trade Center Cleveland.

Marcia completed her master’s studies in Government with a concentration in International Relations at The College of William & Mary and earned her bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College with a double major in International Relations and German Studies.

Marcia is an active volunteer in the international community and serves as Executive Secretary for the Southern Ohio District Export Council and as a member of the University of Cincinnati College of Law International Advisory Council. Marcia and her husband, Jae, have two daughters.

M. Linda Weigand

Linda has dedicated more than three decades to creating strategic tax approaches for her clients. Through her expertise as an international tax specialist, Linda has been able to offer her clients significant tax advantages in structuring cross-border transactions.

In addition to international tax, Linda has significant experience with state and local tax (SALT) issues in the consulting, compliance, and advocacy areas.

Prior to joining Barnes Dennig, Linda’s tax experience included leadership roles in the tax practice of two large, regional CPA firms and working in the tax department of a Cincinnati-based multinational Fortune 100 company. As a prior tax litigator, Linda has also been able to assist clients in tax controversies with the IRS and various states.

Laura Huster CPA - OH | KY | INLauren Huster

As a key member of Barnes Dennig’s tax team, Lauren is committed to helping her clients develop and implement strategies that minimize their tax burden. Her knowledge of the tax code and previous experience at Big Four and a national pharmaceutical company, combined with her responsiveness and attention to detail, make her an invaluable asset to the firm’s clients.

Lauren works with some of the firm’s largest and most complex clients. She has experience with public and private companies with international operations or foreign-based companies with domestic operations.

As a Director, Lauren demonstrates exceptional technical knowledge. She is a highly motivated individual who elects to partake in leadership development training and continuing education every year.
