About Ryan
As a key member of Barnes Dennig’s State and Local Tax consulting practice, Ryan’s areas of expertise include state income tax nexus, audit defense, and Research and Experimentation tax credits. In his more than 8 years of public accounting experience, he’s worked extensively in both tax compliance and tax consulting and is laser-focused on helping clients identify and minimize tax exposure.
Ryan specializes in franchise and income taxation for corporations, S-corporations, and partnerships across multiple industries, including real estate, manufacturing, financial services, construction, and professional sports leagues.
Recently, Ryan also obtained his Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation, which is exclusively granted to CPAs who have met the financial planning requirements established by the AICPA. Being a PFS and a CPA means he can address all aspects of his clients’ financial planning needs and their tax implications, creating a holistic strategy that maximizes wealth and minimizes their tax burden.
As a member of the firm’s COVID-19 Advisory team, Ryan helped clients successfully navigate the ever-changing rules and regulations, helping them achieve the maximum benefits available through detailed planning and forecasting. His in-depth knowledge of PPP loan forgiveness and Employee Retention Tax Credits allowed many clients to secure the assistance they needed to be successful.
Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kentucky and earned his CPA certification in 2014. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Ryan is a committed athlete and outdoorsman – he loves hiking, camping, swimming, and softball. He’s also a dedicated runner and regularly competes in half-marathons.
