Groskopf to Serve as Technical Director for Center for Plain English Accounting

AICPA’s Center for Plain English Accounting (CPEA). The CPEA is the national accounting and auditing (A&A) resource center for local and regional firms. It provides knowledge through publications, alerts and webinars on accounting, auditing and quality control standards.

The AICPA’s announcement shared, “As a client engagement partner, he brings valuable insight and extensive experience to private company accounting issues, as well as expertise in audit, review, compilation and attestation services.” 

On Groskopf’s appointment, Barnes Dennig’s Managing Director Steve Hube shared, “The partnership with the AICPA blends into our vision of providing high-level expertise.”  Barnes Dennig strives to provide exceptional client service by investing in education and training for our staff, clients and the community so the affiliation with the AICPA is another way to go beyond the numbers of tax and accounting to “empower individuals and companies achieve financial success.”

Groskopf is uniquely qualified to serve as the next Technical Director with his local and international experiences.  He is the service line leader for the firm’s A&A practice and will bring the resources and expertise of Barnes Dennig’s A&A practice to the CPEA.  Groskopf is a nationally recognized authority on A&A topics and has been selected by his peers to serve on numerous national and international standard-setting committees. He is a member of the Private Company Council, which works with the FASB to determine if and how U.S. generally accepted accounting principles should be adapted for private companies.

Groskopf also serves on the International Financial Reporting Standards’ Small- and Medium-sized Entity Implementation Group and is a member of the Xavier University Accounting Department’s Board of Executive Advisors. He served as a member of the FASB’s Private Company Financial Reporting Committee (PCFRC). In addition, he has served on the AICPA’s Private Companies Practice Section Technical Issues Committee, including one year as chair of its accounting subcommittee and on the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountant’s Audit and Accounting Committee.
