Groskopf Named to Top 100 Most Influential List

Barnes Dennig’s Assurance Service Line Director, Thomas J. Groskopf, CPA, CVA, MBA, was named to Accounting Today’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. This honor recognizes Tom’s leadership of the Center for Plain English Accounting, a key program of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. During his tenure at CPEA, Tom has traveled the country to more than 150 CPA firms to explain in “Plain English” difficult technical accounting and auditing standards including the new Revenue and Lease Accounting standards. Tom’s work at CPEA has helped over 30,000 accounting and audit professionals.

Tom’s past service on the Private Company Council, representative of the United States on the International Financial Reporting Standards’ Small- and Medium-sized Entity Implementation Group and the Private Company Financial Reporting Committee underscore why he was named to the Top 100 List.
Tom leads Barnes Dennig’s Assurance Service Line. In this role, Tom provides quality assurance for the firm’s clients to confirm compliance with applicable standards and provide the best product possible to the preparers and users of financial statements. In addition, he is a resource to the members of the firm’s assurance practice to help them resolve challenging questions in a cost-effective manner regarding audit, review and compilation matters.
Tom is a summa cum laude graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance with High Honor from Xavier University.
Xavier University has appointed him a member of its Accounting Department’s Board of Executive Advisors. In addition to holding the CPA credential, he holds the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
