Giving back to the Community: Barnes Dennig and PNC Bank Host Outreach Day

As the leaves start to change, and we approach the season of giving, Barnes Dennig employees look forward to an extra tradition. For the 5th consecutive year, Barnes Dennig closed its office doors, and sent the entire firm out into the community for a day of volunteering at deserving agencies across the tristate. We often hang our hat on “going beyond the numbers,” and that’s precisely the mission of Outreach Day: a time to reflect on the stability of the firm and the generosity of the team as we focus time, energy and resources for a whole day, going beyond the numbers of tax and accounting work and helping organizations achieve their charitable goals.
For the second year in a row, Barnes Dennig partnered with PNC Bank to send twice as many volunteers out into the community. PNC forms partnerships with community-based non-profits, and through its PNC Foundation awards grants to worthy organizations focused on economic development, education and the arts. Furthermore, PNC’s “Grow Up Great” is a program dedicated to help America’s youngest children prepare for and succeed in school and life.
With the largest team of local professionals dedicated to the non-profit sector, Barnes Dennig provides services to 130+ non-profit clients. The firm supports non-profits year-round through free educational seminars, biennial benchmarking studies and sponsorships, but we were especially excited to roll up our sleeves and get down to work on Outreach Day, which was able to support six, deserving tristate agencies: Brighton Center, Children Inc., FreeStore Foodbank, Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services, Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission, and the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Cincinnati.
The firm’s mission of “helping individuals and organizations achieve financial success” was clearly underscored by support from our partner agencies, and dedication to the community by all staff. We look forward to seeing the continued success of the agencies that we were able to contribute a day of service towards, and look forward to continuing the tradition of outreach day for many more years to come.
