About Christa
Christa has broad experience providing outsourced accounting and financial advisory services, with a particular focus on the non-profit sector. She helps non-profit leaders navigate today’s complex funding and compliance landscape by delivering the insights, tools, and support they need. As a trusted extension of their internal team, she provides flexible solutions that help organizations operate with confidence.
Christa started at Barnes Dennig as an intern in 2016 and joined the firm full-time in 2018. She spent her early years building deep expertise in non-profit accounting and assurance services while leading audit engagements for organizations across the sector. In 2025, she transitioned into the firm’s client accounting and advisory practice, where she now helps non-profits streamline financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and build long-term financial sustainability through fractional financial leadership.
Non-profit work has always been a genuine passion for Christa, and it shows in the depth of her sector knowledge. She partners closely with non-profit leaders on the issues that matter most, including grant compliance, fund accounting, and board and funder reporting. She takes pride in giving clients the confidence and clarity to focus on their mission rather than the mechanics of their books. Her collaborative, hands-on approach has made her a trusted advisor to a wide range of mission-driven organizations, including schools, community action agencies, and non-profit publishers.
Christa earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Cincinnati, graduating magna cum laude. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Ohio.
When she’s not working, Christa enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, whether they’re out on a walk together or relaxing at home. She values time with friends and family, is an avid reader, and stays active in her community through volunteering.
