About Dan
Dan specializes in pass-through entity and individual taxation, primarily serving clients in the construction and manufacturing industries. A dual CPA licensed in Ohio and Kentucky, Dan brings deep expertise in federal, state, and local taxation, as well as trust and estate tax matters.
A key member of Barnes Dennig’s Valuation Services Group, Dan has performed dozens of business valuations for tax, planning, and strategic purposes. His technical rigor and strong communication skills make him a trusted advisor in complex valuation engagements, particularly in estate and gift planning.
Beyond client service, Dan is a passionate leader in talent development. He heads the firm’s tax learning and development group, where he designs and delivers training programs, mentors new professionals, and drives continuing education initiatives across the tax team.
Through his leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence, Dan is helping shape the future of both the tax and valuation professions.
Dan was born and raised in northern Kentucky and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky with a major in accounting and a minor in international business, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Kentucky with a major in Finance. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Ohio and Kentucky, he’s a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
Through the Kentucky Society of CPAs, Dan was honored with the Award of Excellence in 2018. In 2025, he was recognized as one of the NACVA’s 30 Under Thirty Business Valuation Analysts in the country.
When he’s not helping clients nail their tax strategies or understand the value of their business (and how to enhance it), Dan enjoys exploring – whether it’s discovering a new restaurant or coffee shop in his home city or the unique cultures and attractions of the new destinations he and his wife love traveling to. He’s an avid athlete as well, enjoying basketball, golf, and tennis.
