Rammes Elected Managing Director

Jay Rammes will take over as Managing Director at regional CPA firm Barnes Dennig on September 1, 2018. Jay succeeds his mentor and co-worker of 24 years, Steve Hube. The transition is the result of careful planning and was confirmed by a vote of Barnes Dennig’s Board of Directors. Steve will continue as a Director with the firm serving clients while acting as a resource to Jay through June 30, 2019. Jay is the fourth Managing Director in the firm’s 53 year history.
Steve notes that the firm’s future is in good hands based on Jay’s recognition of the importance of providing clients with the ideas, advice and insight they need to prosper today and tomorrow. In Steve’s view, “Jay understands how forward-thinking CPA firms need to embrace a culture of innovation to challenge the status quo daily.”
Jay’s five years of service on the firm’s Executive Committee have helped prepare him for this role. Another formative experience of Jay’s career is the 10+ years of leadership of the firm’s Human Resource Committee. Jay has been involved in the hiring, training and developing of virtually every professional at the firm. Jay commented, “I have witnessed that exceptional client service starts with hiring and developing exceptional professionals.”
Steve is a key player in Barnes Dennig’s growth and has watched the employee count grow from 18 to 150 over his 37 years at the firm. Jay notes, “In this business you need to be both knowledgeable and committed to care about your clients, and Steve has created an incredible legacy doing just that.” Jay and Steve learned this from the example of Emeritus Managing Director, Bill Cloppert. “Bill connects with people in a meaningful way and helps them in any way he can,” Jay commented.
In Jay’s view, the success of Barnes Dennig is not solely dependent upon who holds the title of Managing Director. “The firm’s success depends on the character of our people and our ability to help our clients succeed.”
