At Barnes Dennig, we understand that professional success begins with personal development. And we believe it is most valuable when it leads to community involvement.
With that in mind, we partnered with United Way of Greater Cincinnati to present an accelerated version of their Board Orientation and Leadership Development (BOLD) Program for our employees.
On Tuesday, July 20, more than 30 Barnes Dennig professionals participated in a five-hour training session in preparation for a position on the board of directors of a local non-profit agency.
We are one of only three companies in Greater Cincinnati to conduct in-house BOLD training. The others are Procter & Gamble and Fifth Third Bank — pretty good company, we feel.
Our goal is to increase our employees’ awareness of community programs, strengthen their leadership skills and introduce them to local organizations that would benefit from those skills.
The condensed BOLD program featured speakers from United Way and a panel of experienced non-profit board members, including Robert Ramsay, CPA, a member of Barnes Dennig’s Not-For-Profit Client Services Team. The program was organized by Barnes Dennig’s Women’s Growth & Development Initiative.
Barnes Dennig is the fifth-largest accounting firm in Greater Cincinnati, and non-profit organizations have long been a point of emphasis within the company. More than a dozen staff members work exclusively with our group of more than 140 non-profit clients, and many more Barnes Dennig employees volunteer their time and services at the grassroots level, the board level or both.
