Shirley is a Principal of the firm and provides tax advisory services to the firm’s clients. Shirley has over 20 years of experience, eight of which have been spent with Barnes Dennig. She embodies her own motto when it comes to providing service to clients – “to help clients structure their tax decisions based on sound business practices.”

Shirley works with many of our high net-worth individuals helping them with estate, retirement and income tax planning, stock option planning, cash-flow projections and succession planning.  Shirley also has extensive corporate tax experience which allows her to analyze both the business and personal financial aspects of closely held businesses.  Her public accounting knowledge was enhanced with her experience at a big four accounting firm.  She also possesses special expertise in international taxation.

Shirley holds a Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Northern Kentucky University where she teaches tax courses. In addition to her CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation, she holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Cincinnati Estate Planning Council and The Financial Planning Association.  Additionally, Shirley was named to the list of “Top 10 Women in Accounting” in 2007 by Women & Business Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
