STEVEN P. HUBE, CPA
Managing Director

“In a market driven by speed and volume, our goal is to help our clients work smarter, not harder. I think any successful business owner will tell you that the key to ongoing success is the effective execution of a sound strategy.”

For more than 30 years, Steve has been instrumental in advancing the vision that Barnes Dennig’s founders had for the firm. He worked with Bob Barnes and Al Dennig, he knew the passion they had for providing exceptional client service, and he recognized how to instill that passion in succeeding generations even as the firm grew from a small office to the fifth-largest accounting firm in Greater Cincinnati.

Because he has represented their vision so well – while also demonstrating technical expertise and leadership within the accounting industry – Steve was a natural choice to become the third Managing Director in the firm’s 46-year history. He succeeded Bill Cloppert in that role January 1, 2012.

Steve has a clear understanding of the financial challenges of privately held businesses in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, distribution and services. He has a thorough understanding of both corporate and personal tax law, which enables him to help clients minimize their tax burdens.

He is a key player on audit engagements for many Barnes Dennig clients and has led a number of due diligence engagements to help clients through the mergers and acquisitions process. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s employee benefit plan audit team.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Steve majored in accounting and earned a BBA.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). He is a former chairman of the OSCPA’s Peer Review Committee and a former Treasurer of Habitat for Humanity.
