JAMES A. DONNELLON, CPA
Director

“At Barnes Dennig we work hard to immerse ourselves in each client’s business and operations—helping them look beyond the numbers to determine solid financial strategies that will help them succeed in meeting their goals.”

Jim has more than two decades of his career invested in the accounting arena – more than half of which served as a director at Barnes Dennig. His work outside the firm includes industry experience with a local company, and four years with a major international accounting firm. This blend of private industry and public accounting experience has given Jim a solid appreciation of what it takes to build a profitable company.

Jim was a six-year member of the firm’s Executive Committee and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and of the Advisory Board of University of Cincinnati College of Applied Science, Construction Science Department.

Additionally, Jim is very involved in PKF International, an alliance of independent accounting firms to which Barnes Dennig belongs. Jim’s participation in this group includes serving on their Consulting Committee. He is also a board member of the Construction Financial Management Association, offering substantial experience in serving this sector. Jim frequently speaks to organizations about compensation, benefits, performance metrics, best practices, credit analysis, understanding financials, and determining cash flow from tax returns. He also serves as an expert witness in litigation.

A graduate of Wittenberg University, Jim earned an MBA in finance from Xavier University.
