RICHARD L. BATTERBERRY, CPA
Director “Helping clients build their organizations for long term success and maximum financial stability is the best part of my job. Ticking and tying is important but it’s just the means we use to figure out if the key strategic decisions we’ve made in the past are having the desired impact in the marketplace today.” Rich serves as director in charge of the not-for-profit client service team, which consists of 14 individuals who work exclusively with exempt organizations in the Cincinnati area. His experience encompasses a wide range of organizations, including social service agencies, arts and educational entities, membership organizations and recipients of Federal funds (subject to OMB A-133). His breadth of experience and depth of exempt organization training helps him keep Barnes Dennig among the most progressive firms in the Greater Cincinnati area. Rich brings experience and a steady hand to the practice of accounting. His career started in industry, and shortly thereafter he gained expertise at a large international CPA firm. In 1983, Rich founded his own firm, Spaeth & Batterberry, to combine his hard-earned experience with a fundamental commitment to providing his clients with peace of mind through exceptional service. Rich is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Ohio Society of CPAs. He also served as Treasurer on the boards of two non-profit entities, serves on the Grants Allocation Committee at ArtsWave (formerly Fine Arts Fund), and is the former Treasurer of a local municipality. |
