As the leaves continue to fall, and we approach the season of giving, Barnes Dennig employees participate once more in an annual tradition. For the 7th consecutive year, Barnes Dennig closed its office doors, and sent the entire firm out into the community for a day of volunteering at deserving agencies across three states. We often hang our hat on “going beyond the numbers,” and that’s precisely the mission of Outreach Day: a time to reflect on the stability of the firm and the generosity of the team as we focus time, energy and resources for a whole day, going beyond the numbers of tax and accounting work and helping organizations achieve their charitable goals.

With the largest team of local professionals dedicated to the non-profit sector, Barnes Dennig provides services to more than 300 non-profits in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The firm supports non-profits year-round through free educational seminars, biennial benchmarking studies and sponsorships, but we were especially excited to roll up our sleeves and get down to work on Outreach Day, which was able to support eight, deserving agencies in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Indianapolis: Children, Inc., Crayons 2 Computers, Life Learning Center, Mercy Neighborhood Ministries, Nella’s Place, Pack Away Hunger, Redwood, and Stepping Stones.

This year, we had the pleasure of also supporting the Indiana CPA Society’s Day of Service. Members of our Indianapolis office partnered with five additional CPA groups to create more than 11,000 meals for families in need in the Indianapolis community at Pack Away Hunger.

The firm’s mission of “helping individuals and organizations achieve financial success” was clearly underscored by support from our partner agencies, and dedication to the community by all staff. We look forward to seeing the continued success of the agencies that we were able to contribute a day of service towards, and look forward to continuing the tradition of outreach day for many more years to come.
