The best way to know whether, or not, an accounting major…and accounting career focus…is the right answer for you is to first get to know ‘who you are.’  Seems like a logical thought, but you would be surprised at the number of people who go through much of their lives without a true understanding of their real interests, strengths, values, and areas of deficiency.  They many times fail to look to the right role models, and their choices in academics and jobs are not in line with what truly motivates them…what makes them get out of bed in the morning with a sense of expectation for achievement, and gratitude for the opportunities that await them.  There is little excitement or peaks of interest in their lives.  They just go about life, one day at a time, trying to get to retirement.  A boring existence, at best…a horrible way to spend 40+ years of life, at worst.
